Giving terms
Giving is not open yet. It opens once Islam with Ease is registered as a non-profit. These terms take effect then, and this page will name the organisation that receives your gift.
1. The app stays free
Islam with Ease and its AI coaches are free for everyone, and stay free whether or not you give. Giving is voluntary, and you receive nothing in return for it.
2. Two ways to give
A gift pays for what it costs to run the app. A gift is from $1 to $1,000.
Sponsoring teacher checks pays a qualified teacher to listen to a learner's recitation and sign it off, for learners who can't pay. One check is $3, and you can sponsor from 1 to 100 at a time. Sponsorships go into one shared pool. A learner asks for a check without having to prove anything, and a check is not tied to any one learner. The learners it helps are never told who sponsored them. A check not yet used stays in the pool for the next learner who asks.
Each gift is a single payment in US dollars. Nothing repeats unless you give again.
3. Refunds
If you gave by mistake or change your mind, write to us within 30 days and we will refund the whole amount to the card you paid with. After that, write to us anyway and we will do what we fairly can.
4. Paying
Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe sends your receipt, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.
Whether a gift can reduce your tax depends on where you pay tax and on how the non-profit is registered. Until this page says otherwise, please treat gifts as not tax-deductible.
5. What we keep about a gift
The amount, the currency, whether it was a gift or a sponsorship, how many checks, the date, Stripe's reference for the payment, and your account if you were signed in. You see your own gifts on the Give page, and they are in Download my data. No one else ever sees your gifts. Everyone's gifts are shown only added together, and only once at least 10 people have given, so that no one's gift can be worked out.
If you delete your account, your name comes off your gifts. The amounts stay in our accounts, because the money has to be accounted for.
6. Questions, and changes to these terms
Write to hello@islamwithease.com about a gift, a refund or these terms. If these terms change, the date above changes with them. A change never applies to a gift already made.
