Quran by the numbers

Our lessons teach the words that unlock the most of what you recite, first. These are the counts behind that order, computed by us from the whole text, so anyone can check them.

The text, counted

Counting words depends on how the text is divided, which is why other sources give slightly different totals (77,429 and 77,430 are both quoted). Ours is the Tanzil Project's Uthmani text, which divides into 77,433: the text our learners read.

Coverage is not comprehension. Knowing most of the parts on a page lets you see the skeleton of an ayah; reading it unaided takes far more, and understanding it is what our checks measure, on ayat you have never studied (the study).
