Terms of service
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are between you and Islam with Ease (“we”), which is run by its founder while it is being registered as a non-profit. By using the app, including as a guest, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you give, the giving terms apply as well. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. What Islam with Ease is
A free app for learning to read, understand and memorize the Quran: lessons, a Quran reader, AI coaches and, where they are available, human teachers and scholars. It is free and stays free. Parts of it are still being built, and we may add, change or stop features as it grows.
3. Your account
No account is needed: when you open the app, a guest account is made for you in this browser. Saving it with a username and a password keeps it, and lets you use it on another phone. Until you save it, clearing your browser's data loses it, and we cannot bring it back.
Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility. You must be at least 13 to use the app, and in the EU and the UK, under 16 only with a parent's agreement.
4. The religious content
The Quran text comes from verified sources, named where it appears; translations and meanings are shown under their owners' licences. Our scholars review the app's teaching over time. The app teaches; it does not issue religious rulings (fatwas). For a ruling on your own situation, ask a qualified scholar; you can send a question to ours from the app. Sunni and Shia learners are both welcome, and the core lessons carry no sectarian content.
5. The AI coaches
The coaches are AI. They can be wrong, including about religion, so check anything that matters with a qualified person. They never give religious rulings, and they are not a doctor, a lawyer, a counsellor or an emergency service.
If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, call your local emergency number now. The app shows crisis helplines too.
6. Teachers and scholars
Where the app offers it, a qualified teacher can listen to a recitation you send and mark it, and a scholar can answer a question you send. Their marks and answers are their own judgement. Both depend on who is available, and may be limited. Some of them are for saved accounts only.
7. What you put in
What you write and record stays yours. You let us store and use it to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes, including sending your messages to AI providers so the coaches can answer. We never use your recordings to train any AI. Record only your own voice, or someone else's with their agreement.
8. Using it fairly
- Treat everyone with respect, in groups and everywhere else: no harassment, hate or abuse.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the app's limits or security.
- No automated accounts, no scraping, and no copying the app or its content in bulk.
- Don't use the coaches to produce anything harmful, illegal or abusive.
- Don't pretend to be a teacher, a scholar, or someone from Islam with Ease.
- Add someone to a group as a named reader only with their agreement, or a parent's.
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why where we can.
9. Ours, and others'
The app's design, code, lessons and words are ours, or used under licence. The Quran text and the other sources are used under their owners' licences, and each is credited where it appears. Use the app for your own learning, and share what it lets you share (an ayah card, for example), but please don't copy the app or its content in bulk.
10. Giving
Giving is voluntary, and the app stays free whether or not you give. Gifts follow the giving terms.
11. Stopping
You can stop at any time, and delete your account from the You page. We may stop offering the app, or a part of it; if we close it, we will say so in the app beforehand where we can, with time to download your data.
12. The limits of our responsibility
We work to keep the app accurate and available, but it is a free service, provided as it is and as available, with no promise that it will always work or be free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions made relying on the app or its coaches. Nothing in these terms limits a right the law does not let us limit, including your rights as a consumer where you live.
13. Changes, the law, and how to reach us
If we change these terms, the date at the top changes, and if a change matters, the app will tell you before it takes effect; using the app after that means you accept it. If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
These terms are governed by the law of the place where Islam with Ease is established. You keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and can bring a claim there.
